Corn Roast – June 18 The show must go on! Even heavy down pours and lightning could not stop the 23rd Annual Corn Roast from taking place. After an initial storm, the crowd filed in to enjoy the Corn, 16 food vendors, Beer and Music before a second storm hit. Thank you to all who made the event possible; The City of Crown Point, Greg Gordon and all the volunteers from Centier Bank, Kevin Van Sessen, Blade Cutters Landscaping, Diane Gordon, View Outdoor Advertising, Mark Schweitzer, Crown Point Fire Department and Superior Petroleum, Mark Bates, Fleming, Bates, & Barber Insurance, Hyon Kwak, First Midwest Bank, Brian P. Arts & Crafts Festival – June 19 & 20 A total of 74 Arts and Crafts exhibitors filled the square for the 36th annual event. Seven food vendors served up refreshments for the crowd. Thank you again to the city of Crown Point, especially the Crown Point Civil Defense. Dollie Parade – June 21 The morning rain did not stop over 100 children and their parents from coming out to march around the square for the Dollie Parade. Thank you to our sponsors; Centier Bank, Panache Salon, The Candy Cove and Crown Trophy.

 

Pet Parade – June 21 Dressed and undressed pets came out for this year’s Pet Show and Parade at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Thank you to the Crown Point K9 unit for their entertaining and informative demonstration. Also a big thank you to our sponsors, Dr. Michael Walsh and the entire staff of Oak Hill Animal Hospital, Barbara Hartley, Pets in Motion, Vivian Vallone, Luv For Animals Pet Sitting and Jean Lahm, Geisen’s  Pet Loss Centre. Thank you to our volunteer Sarah Polman, IN-Cambridge Architects.

 

Marriage Mill Celebration – June 25 Aubrey Brainard and Joseph Llano from Hebron, Indiana were married by Crown Point’s Clerk-Treasure Patti Olson during this event. And our very own Cheri and Darryl Elser renewed their marital vows along with approximately twenty other couples. Thank you Carol Kalmar, Pretty Woman & Gentleman’s Touch Hair Salon for being a wonderful MC for the event. Taste of Crown Point – June 25 & 26 There were 41 local restaurants, food vendors and non-profit organizations spread out on the Old Courthouse Lawn and Square. Gospel Concert – June 28 It was a beautiful night on the Old Courthouse Lawn for a concert.
